Merrydown PLC Limited owns two major drinks brands – Merrydown cider and Shloer.
Merrydown was established in 1946 by Ian Howie, Jack Ward and John
Kelland - Knight in the garage of Jack
Ward’s cottage
in Sussex and
after nearly 60 years of producing successful
brands, it became part of the SHS Group of companies in 2005. In the making of its
Vintage Dry and Medium premium ciders, only dessert apples are used, not the bitter sweets used by other ciders,
giving the brand it’s distinctive flavour. Shloer is a
sparkling juice range
which is the number one selling Adult Soft Drink in the multiple
channel at Christmas and has a retail value of
